Kim Leach Livestock Project Scholarship

Scholarships available:

  • Five $1000.00 livestock project scholarships available

Scholarship eligibility requirements:

  • Must be 10-19 years old
  • Must have completed at least one previous year of a fair/livestock animal project
  • Must be entered/entering as a 2021 805 Ag Kids Invitational participant
  • Must complete current year livestock project through the 2021 805 Ag Kids Invitational [show and/or sale]
  • Cannot win in two consecutive years

Scholarship entry period:

  • Enter April 1, 2021-April 30, 2021 by midnight. No late entries will be accepted.

How to apply for a scholarship:

  • Eligible participants must submit an essay, minimum 600 words, answering the following prompt:
    • "What I have learned from raising an animal for the fair..."
  • Essay must be submitted via Word document or scanned PDF (if hand-written) to: megan@805AgKids.com
  • Essay entry must include the following information in the email:
    • Name
    • Address
    • Phone number
    • Age
    • Club/organization/chapter
    • Answer the following eligibility questions:
      • I have completed at least one previous year of a fair/livestock animal project: (Yes/No)
      • I am / plan to be entered/entering in the 2021 805 Ag Kids Invitational: (Yes/No)
      • The species I will be raising for this year’s 2021 805 Ag Kids Invitational is:

Additional details:

  • Scholarship recipients will be chosen by 805 Ag Kids Board
  • Winning essays will be published on 805 Ag Kids website, social media, etc. with mention of first name and last initial only
  • Thank you notes will be required from scholarship recipients to the sponsor of the Kim Leach Livestock Project Scholarship
